Fuertes Observatory celebrates Hubble, prepares for new exhibits
Fuertes Observatory at Cornell University celebrated the 25th anniversary of the launch of the Hubble Space Telescope and prepared plans for new museum exhibits on Friday, April 24. Fuertes normally holds Friday night viewings, and in addition, Don Barry, a staff astronomer at Cornell and who also has experience with the Spitzer space telescope, gave a lecture about the history and political overview of the Hubble telescope.

Nighttime dangers debunked
While the night is stereotypically considered to be more dangerous than the daytime, local officials reported that there is not much difference in the dangers of the day versus the night, except for local state parks. Ithaca was awarded “Most Secure Place to Live” by Farmers Insurance, nestled at the bottom of Lake Cayuga and offering a niche college-town culture.

I am a journalism student at Ithaca College with a passion for creativity. With minors in the Honors program, art, and still photography, I'm still trying to decide what I want to be when I grow up.

As a Leadership Scholar, president and co-founder of We Are One, an anti-bullying organization, Resident Assistant and Manager at Campus Center & Events Services, I thrive in positions of leadership. I love merging my creativity with my love of writing, and plan to review theatre, art and music, telling stories through multimedia, photographic and print formats.
